On the way home after dinner out along with a margarita or two your husband who is driving has a heart attack/ seizure. You need to get him to the hospital quickly, do you drive a little intoxicated or wait for the paramedics and possibly loss your love?
This is a question of judgement as far as I am concerned and while it would be illegal for me to drive my wife if I were tipsy, I would not take the chance of losing her or any other loved one while I waited for medical help.
My son asked if a criminal were to break into our house would I shoot him? (yes I own several weapons) I told him that if he/she were hostile I would do what it takes to protect my family. Then he asked if the criminal was running away across the street would I? I referred the earlier judgment call that I wrote for a project earlier this year with the car driving. I told him if there was not imminent danger that I would call the sheriff and let them deal with it. He was not sure if he would do the same thing, I explained to him at that point he would be in the wrong since they were no longer on our property and were fleeing. I went on to explain that it is a judgment call and make sure that you are willing to take responsibility for your action and own it.
